You do not have to, but you can. Buy tablets, POS terminals and printers from the Orderly shop, set up and ready to sell.
Device questions
No. A typical POS setup in Kenya runs KES 50,000 to 100,000, but Orderly works on ordinary Android tablets and phones, so many restaurants start with devices they already own.
Never. Some international systems sell hardware that is useless if you leave them. Orderly runs on standard devices that remain yours to use for anything.
An Android tablet for the counter, a thermal receipt printer, and a kitchen screen or printer if you run a busy kitchen. We supply tablets, dual-screen terminals, printers, charging stations and QR stands.
As a guide: thermal receipt printers typically KES 3,500 to 16,000, touch monitors KES 20,000 to 37,000, and all-in-one terminals from around KES 55,000 upward. We will recommend the cheapest setup that genuinely fits your service.
Yes. Add devices as you grow and everything stays in sync in real time.
Either works. A screen is usually better for busy kitchens - no paper, orders sorted by station, and nothing gets lost.
